Choosing a solar panel kit for your camper-van couldn’t be easier.

All SunWorks kits contain one or more solar panels and the appropriate SunWorks LCD charge controller. We also include the correct cable with ready attached connectors. Each kit is supplied with fully illustrated instructions. The instructions provide you with plenty of guidance and recommendations for a reliable installation.

Which type of kit is best for my needs?

You can use a semi-flexible solar panel or a standard rigid framed solar panel on your camper-van or motorhome.

Semi-flexible solar panels are attached directly to the roof of the vehicle. They have the advantage of being very thin and so cause less windage. The SunWorks FLEX kits shown on this page contain this type of solar panel.

What size of solar panel do I need?

Trickle charging your battery can usually be achieved using a 50 watt solar panel kit.

If you want to provide some surplus energy we advise fitting a 100 watt panel kit. This will give you additional power in the summer months and more reliable charging during the winter.

If you are interested in becoming independent of the mains hook-up or you have a very large motorhome you should consider fitting a 200 watt solar panel kit.

Which batteries can I charge?

Choose an UNO kit if you only want to charge your leisure battery.

Alternatively choose a DUO kit if you want to charge both your leisure battery and your engine battery.

Examples of suitable solar panel kits for camper-vans:

1. You want to be independent of the mains hookup and want to charge engine and leisure batteries: Choose the 200-DUO-FLEX kit.

2. You only want to charge your leisure battery but need to do this reliably during summer and winter. Choose the 100-UNO-FLEX kit.

Do I need anything else?

Each installation is different. Therefore our kits contain the essential electrical items, carefully matched to work together. You may also need:

Sikaflex adhesive. For fixing the solar panel to the roof. One tube is needed for each panel.

Watertight roof gland. Takes the cable securely through the roof of your motorhome.

Fused battery harness. Makes the connection to your battery safe and easy.
